Position Specific Property Conservation

We have here two methods that have been implemented to study the conservation of properties in multiple sequence alignments. Multiple sequence alignments (MSAs) contain a wealth of information about the structure, function and evolution of proteins. Since, residue conservation has functional and structural significance, MSAs therefore provide important guidance in designing laboratory experiments such as studying the effects of site-directed mutants at the conserved sites. One method is based on variance, while the other is based on Gaussian Fitting.
